The Canton of Vest Yorvik is a branch of of the Society for Creative Anachronism, Inc (SCA), which encompasses the modern towns and cities of Oakville, Mississauga, and Brampton. We hold weekly gatherings, and offer a variety of activities and experiences for newcomers and existing members alike.
What is the SCA?
The SCA consists of over 70,000 participants in 20 SCA "kingdoms" around the globe. Dressed in clothing of the Middle Ages from a variety of the world's cultures, we host events including tournaments, arts exhibits, classes, workshops, dancing, feasts, and more.
The SCA is a non-profit educational organization devoted to the research and re-creation of pre-seventeenth century skills, arts, combat, and culture, from all regions of the globe. We strive to employ the knowledge of history to enrich the lives of participants through events, demonstrations, and other educational presentations and activities.
